In July 2019, Air Products’ Elvin Tham received a Commendation Award from Singapore Standards Council (SSC) in recognition of his support for the national Singapore Standardization Program.
Recommended by the Industrial Gas Association Singapore, Elvin Tham represented Air Products in a technical work group to re-develop the code of practice for the filling, inspection, testing and maintenance of containers for the storage and transport of compressed gases. The new SS 639 standard was officially launched in October 2018.
Air Products Southeast Asia President Alex Tan commented, “The award is a strong recognition of Elvin’s contributions, as well as Air Products’ reputation for its safety, industry expertise and operational excellence. Our support for the Singapore Standardization Program reinforces our commitment to the robust development of Singapore’s industrial gas industry.”
Through the Singapore Standardization Program, SSC develops standards which can enhance product and service quality, hence Singapore companies’ competitiveness in the domestic and overseas markets.
