It is not the purity of the gas that will guarantee error free
analyses, but the maximum level of impurities that makes the difference.
The importance of impurity levels depend on the function of the
gas, the sensitivity of the analysis and on the specific detector
used. Air Products offers different grades of acetylene, air,
argon, carbon dioxide, helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, nitrous oxide
and oxygen. You should select a GC gas and grade most appropriate
to your specific analysis i.e. not containing impurities which
would affect your analysis or degrade your chromatographic equipment.
Our patented BIP®
cylinders are specifically designed for carrier gas applications,
eliminating O2, H2O and THC from the gas
stream to ensure optimum performance and total analysis cost-savings.
To help you select the optimum gas grade Air Products has experts
ready to advise you. Or order the 'Frequently asked questions'
booklet, jointly written by an analytical OEM and Air Products.
